Shaniya Shatteen

Soror Shaniya Shatteen was initiated into Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. through the Delta Phi Chapter at Howard University in the Fall of 2022. Since becoming an emerald woman, she has been an active and dedicated member, always looking for ways to serve and make a meaningful impact.

Throughout her membership, Soror Shatteen has served in numerous leadership roles at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. While at Delta Phi Chapter, she served as Chapter Journalist, earning Eastern Regional Social Media Recognition for outstanding chapter communications and engagement. She also helped plan and lead programs focused on professional development, education, health and wellness, youth engagement, and sisterhood.

After graduating from Howard University, she transferred to Delta Chapter in Atlanta, Georgia, where she quickly became involved in chapter leadership. She has led several successful initiatives, launched a new chapter website, established a cohesive chapter brand, and increased the chapter's social media engagement and reach by 189.4%. Within her first two years in Delta Chapter, she was nominated by her chapter members for the President's Excellence Award in recognition of her dedication and service.

Soror Shatteen has also served beyond the chapter level as a member of the Eastern Regional Conference Technology Committee and later as Assistant to the Southern Regional Journalist, supporting regional communications through newsletters, social media, and member outreach.

In March 2026, Soror Shatteen was elected Southern Regional Journalist. She is honored to serve the Southern Region and looks forward to continuing to strengthen communication, highlight the accomplishments of its members and chapters, and preserve the region's history for years to come.
